Second major storm to hit in a week, this is the stream by our house, normally a dry stream bed.
Mud sliding down from the hills turned it into a raging muddy torrent
It just kept on coming
This used to be a bit of a rocky point that stuck out into the ocean in front of the house in front of us. Now it is and Island and a river, and a whole lot of debris.
Bit more of the debris
This is looking south down our beach , all that junk wasn't there the day before
What a mess
This is right across the stream from us. We now have about 25 extra feet of stream bed. There used to be a concrete patio with a shelter that some of the local ladies would sit and chat under in the evenings
This is the house that lost it's front yard, Prior to the storm we couldn't see the house from our house.
The civil defense guys were afraid that if there was much more rain, it would fall in and take the bridge, the road and possible our house with it.
On our side of the bridge some of the trees are now seriously exposed
It had gone down quite a bit was running much cleaner but there was a lot of debris under the bridge.
Here we are post storm and the stream is a polite trickle. Those rocks are all new.
These came down during the height of the storm, sounded like thunder as they were all banging together
This should give you an idea of the size of some of the boulders that come down.
